Smokers' brains suffer at least 200 nicotine impacts everyday that amounts to thousands of impacts every year. No other drug acts with such high intensity and magnitude; provoking damage practically to all body organs as much as nicotine. The smoking habit has been known to contribute significantly to the occurrence of mouth and esophagus cancer. Smoking has also been known to augment the chances of development of pancreas, bladder, kidney and stomach cancer. But it is not only smokers who are affected by the carcinogens that are released as a result of smoking: women show delays in their intra-uterine growth and children exhibit low weight on birth when they are exposed to second hand smoke from tobacco. Concerned with the high index of death caused by the addiction to tobacco amongst its working population, the Department of Analyses and Scientific Research, in a partnership with the Brazilian Association of Cancer Aid and Prevention (ANPPC), an Anti-tobacco non-governmental organization, decided to innovate an efficient treatment so that chronic smokers could give up the smoking habit. The basic "AMAZON ANTI-TOBACCO" formulation has been used as a study criterion, and has been used by 2,547 addicted smokers since November 1997.
